Hi,
Thank you for the suggestions.
I have already did those adjustments (updates, repair permissions etc.)
But the settings didn't stick.
Then just by chance, I have tried the default configuration instead of adding a new configuration. And the settings stayed there!
But the overall result didn't change. I still can't connect to the vpn.
Weird enough, when I use Parallels Desktop with vpn client, I can connect easily on my macbook pro. But MacOSX just can't connect.
I couldn't understand what the problem is.
Thank you for your help,
demet

Make sure your Mac OS has the latest updates installed. Also, run "Disk Repair" & "Repair Permissions" routine in disk utility...located in your > applications > utilities folder > disk utility. Directions are located on the main page of this blog called "Mac Troubleshooting Guide" under "Resolving start-up issues and Performing Disk Repair". After performing general maintenance on your hard drive, try setting up VPN again, If the items you entered do not stick create a new profile in your accounts tab in control panels, login to that account and try it to setup your vpn settings again.
Hi,
Thank you for this article. But I am having a problem and hours of searching didn't solve it yet.
My company is using Contivity IPsec VPN but they do not support macs. The IT gave me the connection info for windows and I tried to set it up in Mac as it is shown above. But whenever I click apply after filling in the Authentication Settings, the whole form resets itself (password and shared secret disappear). I couldn't get them stay in there. Therefore I am getting this "The IPsec shared secret is missing" error.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot

Slight typo I think in some of your terminal commands...

For graphical sub-folders, it should be:

ls -R | grep ":$" | sed -e 's/:$//' -e 's/[^-][^\/]*\//–/g' -e 's/^/ /' -e 's/-/|/'
